Carrying good omens

This is a lacquerware mother-of-pearl obi clip featuring "clouds," a traditional auspicious motif, rendered in a light, ethereal style.
It's a one-of-a-kind piece crafted by an artist, featuring a soft form carved from cypress wood and infused with traditional lacquer art techniques. The brilliance of the mother-of-pearl adds a subtle touch of elegance to traditional Japanese attire like kimonos and yukatas.

Unique brilliance woven by handiwork

White pigment is carefully applied to the back of iridescent abalone shells. The deep green hues inherent in the shell reveal a mysterious expression depending on the angle of the light.

2-way design

It can be used not only as an obi clip but also as a pendant top by attaching your own chain. Its design makes it easy to incorporate into everyday outfits, not just on days when you wear Japanese attire.

As natural abalone shells are used, there may be individual differences in patterns and colors. Also, microscopic chips or cracks derived from the material may be visible.

This product is made by applying multiple layers of lacquer by hand, one by one. Therefore, slight unevenness or dust adhesion may be observed on the painted surface, but we hope you understand this as a characteristic of handmade works.
